How to make the most of your folding chairs

During the holidays, household resources tend to get stretched to the limit and having a set of folding chairs on hand can be a real lifesaver.

Whether you should choose to purchase folding plastic, wooden or metal chairs will depend on how you plan to use them and where you intend to store them. Wooden chairs tend to be more stylish around a dining table and are more likely to match your existing furniture and fittings. Plastic or metal chairs are more water and stain resistant and therefore more suitable for long-term storage in a garage or loft crawl space as they will not be affected by damp or cold.

Although such chairs are usually only used for a short amount of time, you should still pay careful attention to the design if you want your guests to be as comfortable as possible. Chairs with curved backs may not fold quite so flat but they much nicer to sit on.
